Three Food Rules To Stay Healthy & Lose Weight By NYC Personal Trainer Kevin Richardson

My introduction to Eastern philosophy began in my early teens when I began studying traditional Japanese martial arts. Many are surprised to learn that a large part of the tradition is the art of healing- namely the use of the principles of acupuncture and meridian theory as a way of sustaining good health. As a practicing Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and having used practiced for the past 18 years I have used acupuncture almost exclusively to deal with any health problems that I myself encountered,  and have had few occasions reason thus far to use Western medicine. Not that Western medicine is without merit, as it is very much an important development in our time that serves to improve our quality of life, but when one takes the approach of working towards prevention of prevent ailments, there is not as much need for anything else.)

But there are other principles that I was exposed to as well, namely ideas regarding food consumption. Ideas that were instrumental in my creation of the Naturally Intense System of Diet & Exercise™.  Here are three key aspects to health and weight loss that I would advise everyone to adopt, for it is not merely what you eat that affects your health, but how you eat as well.

1. Always chew your food very well. This makes it easier for your enzymes to break food down into the energy needed to keep the body going.

2. Stop eating before you are completely full and always keep one third of your stomach empty. This enhances digestion and won't overload your system as well as makes it easier for you to gain better control of your stomach muscles. (Surprisingly, when I began bodybuilding one of the first things I was told to do when getting into contest shape was to always keep one third of my stomach empty- good advice from two very different parts of the world!)

3. Eat in a quiet, non-stressful environment. Make the dinner hour a special time with no television, phone calls or other loud distractions. Sit down to eat, and make a rule to discuss only pleasant topics.
